Fire Fighter lost everthing at sea

BATTLING A STORM AT SEA IN A SINKING BOAT
My best friend, a retired Military Fire Fighter who served for 24 years, was sailing down the coast of Washington State in his 40ft live-aboard sailboat (the only house he had) when he lost everything in an unexpected storm, and now has nowhere to live.
This was his home, his life and his dreams "“ until he got caught in a raging storm the other day. He became sea sick while battling the storm for days. +30ft waves were breaking over top of the sailboat and +50 knot winds had destroyed the sails. Crashing waves managed to smash in the rear cabin bulk head flooding into the cabin, taking out the engine and all electronics.
With no power, and the seas flooding the cabin, he made his final call for help. The mayday was heard by the US Coast Guard in Astoria OR. They launched their helicopter and proceeded to locate the sailboat and rescue Duane by plucking him out of the ocean. All that he had was a DUI drysuit, a PFD and a cellphone in a waterproof case.
These three things combined together saved his life.
Duane now has nothing; he has lost his home, all his belongings and with no insurance, nothing will be covered to assist in his recovery. Duane is the type of guy who always helps out people in need by giving.
It's now our turn to do the same for him, by giving.
