IT IS DONE!!! I’m still recovering and therefore can’t fully embrace my new freedom just yet, but I am so so happy and grateful and sending kisses to my whole team at Plastmed Düsseldorf, especially to Dr. Pluto, Michelle and my own Michelle at home. ♡ I will keep updating about healing, down payment and other parts of my transition, so stay tuned.

Hey there! My name is Kim and as your not-so-average guy I need to get rid of some extra baggage I was cursed with at birth.

At 33 years of age I can confidently say I have been suffering from gender dysphoria for as long as I can remember. Always told I would eventually grow out of it. Well, I didn’t. Now, after a lifetime’s worth of throwbacks, I was unexpectedly presented with the incredible opportunity to get a mastectomy done at Plastmed Düsseldorf much sooner than I had expected. It’s a bit of a double edged sword though, as it leaves me with way less time to save up for it than I thought. On top of that it also falls right into the period in which I am to get started on other parts of my medical transition. In a country without an informed consent model and a collapsing mental health care system, initial access to medical care for trans* people is atrocious, with exorbitant waiting times, extra costs, stubborn insurances, unqualified and unwilling medical professionals. You won’t want to cancel whatever appointments you finally managed to get, if you can help it.

And that is where this fundraiser comes in! Your financial aid will help me focus on my surgery, healing and overall transition without worrying too much about how to pay off an unexpected loan. Any little bit you can spare is greatly appreciated, even if it is nothing more than sharing this page so others might see it.

Getting my chesticles removed will greatly improve my wellbeing and overall life. Not only will it, combined with hormone replacement therapy, have my body match my mind, it will also greatly improve my physical health and comfort by not having to compress my chest anymore, day in day out.
