Colleen’s Hospital Care

Donation protected
On Monday, 10/2/17, Colleen had an accident with her horse. The horse reared and went over completely backwards. When this happened the horn of her saddle hit in between Colleen's eyes with the full weight of the horse, fracturing vertebrae in her neck, and multiple level 3 fractures around her eyes, forehead, nose, and cheekbones. There are no life threatening injuries, however there is extensive facial trauma. She had her first surgery that night with many more to come over the next days and weeks. She is undergoing a surgery to remove the fractured vertebrae in her neck, which is being replaced with a cage. There is no current evidence of brain injury.

Colleen is currently a graduate student finishing up her dissertation for her Doctorate in Archeology in Tulsa. She is an extremely vibrant and creative person who is a runner and loves to ride horses. Her husband Jason, and her teenage kids, Corinne and Scott, appreciate all the love, help and prayers offered so far and the ones to come. There have been multiple requests for a funding campaign to help contribute to the costs of ICU, multiple surgeries, a prolonged hospital stay, and rehabilitation services afterwards. Please share this page with anyone who might be able to help the Bell Family during their time of need. We will post updates to her progress. Thank you for any support you are able to give!
