We made it! We have arrived in Canada as we have been dreaming of a couple of years!The kids absolutely love Canadians school!This is why we came (from Korea, and to leave an increasingly difficult situation that was really starting to hurt the kids.) We know we have made the right move for our family. It was so I didn't, not so well planned, and it seems was our only shot, so we took it.
We searched for and waited for a low-rent apartment for a month, and the hotels really drained us, till we found VERY kind people to billet us. All the utility companies required large deposits because I've been gone to Asia so long I have no credit rating. Our car does not run well. We are still sleeping on air mattresses and have no furniture. Even though we are making a diligent use of Salvation Army stores and food banks, my wife faces a lot of immigration processing fees, and is not eligible to work in Canada for about a year. The job I've just started will not be able to cover all of the start up fees. We'd hate to crash now that we've finally touched down. If I apply for social assistance, then I cannot sponsor my wife to be a permanent resident.We are SO close to starting our family dream. For our kids, please help us out with the last stretch!
