Heart Warrior Justin

My name is Donna. My lil cousin Justin is one of the twelve patients at the Children's Hospital in New Orleans that developed complications after his heart surgery. Justin is 13yo and was born with Double Outlet Rt. Ventricle (DORV) which is a rare congenital heart defect. He had to have his first heart surgery at 2 weeks old to replace his pulmonary valve in his heart. On May 24th 2017, Justin had his 4th heart surgery in New Orleans. Soon after arriving home he started to run a slight fever and show signs of infection that went undiagnosed until he was admitted into ICU on September 1st 2017. He remains there today and according to the doctors it will be a while before he can go home. Although the doctors have Justin on 4 different and very strong antibiotics, they have been unsuccessful in getting rid of the infection and he has now become neutropenic. This means his white blood count is very low and because of this his body is having trouble fighting off infection. Justin's parents have stayed by his side and have asked nothing from anyone except prayers. We all know as parents, sisters & brothers of ill loved ones, what kind of toll, financially, this could take on someone. My Aunt did not ask me to do this and at first even became emotional and asked me not to start this fund. However, with so many people wanting to do more than pray and approaching her with wanting to help financially, she has granted me this blessing.
