Maryalice Cantasano Memorial Fund
Maryalice Cantasano, 60, of Charlotte County, Florida, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at her residence in Port Charlotte. Maryalice was born April 27, 1957, in Baldwin, New York, to the late Averell and Mary Broughton. A resident of Charlotte County since 1989, Maryalice and her husband Charles "Chuck" Cantasano III, moved to Punta Gorda from Oceanside, New York, with their five sons. While managing a growing family, both became integrated into everyday community life, attending Sacred Heart Catholic Church and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2606 in Punta Gorda, and Chuck became a co-founding member of the Guitar Army of Charlotte County. Following the death of her husband in November of 2006, and the subsequent death of a son, Christopher "Chris", in August of 2008, Maryalice relocated to Port Charlotte. Maryalice will be greatly missed, and forever remembered by her family she loved so much. She is survived by sons, Charles "Chuck", Thomas "Tommy", Joseph "Joey", and Michael "Mikey" Cantasano; six grandchildren; sisters, Ann Holton and Lucia Greenberg; brother, Dennis Broughton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Visitation will be held this Sunday, October 8th, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with 7 p.m. evening Wake service at Roberson Funeral Homes 215 Mary St. Chapel, in Punta Gorda. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, October 9th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda. Interment will follow at Indian Spring Cemetery, also in Punta Gorda.
