On October 18th, the Sawyer family received the news that Edward Sawyer was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. With Edward being self employed, and Darlene being let go from her job, the family isn't under the best healthcare. Their current healthcare doesn't cover any / all cancer related treatments. All of Ed's cancer treatments are currently out of pocket.
Their daughter, Lindsay, is currently in college which is another expense added to the mix.
Edward is the only one working in this household and will need to take time off of work for his treatments and surgeries. Due to his needs, Darlene hasn't been able to find / get work.
Edward will be starting chemo very soon before his big operation, which is to be determined.
