Cancer Takes Mt. McKinley Climber

CHRIS' HOME REPAIR FUND
While bravely fighting colon cancer for 5 years before passing, Chris Goethe continued to use any energy he had to show up, almost daily, to his millwork job to support his family. Upon arriving home, he needed to rest and sleep, especially after all of his chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Therefore, no time remained to keep up with house repairs. He chose to try to live as normally as his family was used to living. Chris never complained of his pain and lived each day as if it could be his last, happy to be with family, friends, and co-workers. 5 years of unavoidable house and yard neglect has added up to sizable and overwhelming expense and work.

Chris' last concern was leaving his house in disrepair for his wife and two daughters to maintain, which has become a burden and a struggle. Much money is needed to purchase building materials and hire skilled labor for repairs, including, but not limited to, a new roof for their modest home. 100% of all the donated monies will go directly to Chris' wife and two daughter's solely for purchasing materials, labor and services for home repair and yard.

Chris was an active alumni member of his Northport High School Class of 1973. One of his last desires was to attend his 40th reunion on July 13, 2013. He even purchased his ticket back in February of 2013-hoping and willing himself to attend. On April 22, 2013, he apologized for needing to withdraw his name from the attendee list, because that was his first day of hospice. Three weeks later, Chris passed and his classmates all honored him with loving and affectionate remembrances at their 40th year reunion.
Chris was a true gentleman: kind spirited, laughed with a calm sense of humor, easily solved problems, avoided unnecessary conflict. and truly loved life.

Please read Chris' life's highlights below as a successful climber to the top of Alaska's Mt. McKinley, a highly skilled woodworker, an avid Star Wars fan, an outdoorsman and an endearing husband, father, friend and co-worker.

Please help this loving and caring family repair their house in need and restore it to a HEALTHY state-because they had sacrificed these current needs in order to spend any remaining quality time in the evenings and weekends at home with Chris.

Your help is a blessing! May you feel rewarded as you donate with your heart and share the love!

Thank you so very much for reaching out and expressing your concern with your extended hand, and may you receive love and friendship to your heart with your other hand...

WOODWORKER
Our very talented cabinet maker and woodworker friend and family man, Chris Goethe, hand made wooden ornaments, keepsakes and baby items from trees grown in his own yard in addition to his hard working, well respected millwork employment. Each year he designed a new wooden ornament used for display in homes and offices throughout the year, not just holidays, for many years. Photos of some past very cherished designs will be posted shortly. Here is hoping that many woodworkers, builders, carpenters, architects, designers, construction trade people will contribute to Chris' Home Repair Fund.
