We rescued Gator from an animal shelter when he was 3 months old to be a companion for my 6 year old son. As Gator grew, we became aware that he was going to have issues with his hind legs. Over the months his condition worsened and we soon learned that he had torn both cruciate ligaments in his back legs and would need surgery to repair the damage. After receiving an estimate from the surgeon for nearly $6,400 I started contemplating my options...
Euthanizing the most loving creature I have ever known has never sat well with me. Letting him suffer in his current condition isn't much better, heart-breaking actually... which is what brought me here.
One of the technicians at the veterinary clinic suggested this route. I generally don't like to ask for help with anything but I can't stand to see Gator suffer anymore.
I'm hoping that lovers of kindness, and animals, will help Gator out of his current state and into the life he deserves. I am told that the success rate of this surgery is very high and that the expectation is that Gator will regain the ability to run, jump and play....
