Help Mike With His Fight

I’m a sister trying to help my little brother out. Here’s the facts...July 17th my brother Mike went to the doctor thinking he had a hernia. They did an ultrasound and x-ray. Diagnosis turned out to be nonseminomatous germ cell tumor (Testicular Cancer). It was an aggressive and fast growing tumor...likely to spread if not removed immediately. Surgery was scheduled for the following Monday, July 24th. They took blood before surgery and his tumor markers were at 356. They removed the tumor and scheduled a Ct scan for Aug. 3rd to make sure nothing spread to his lymph nodes or abdomen. They found a small spot on his liver and because of that, now a P.E.T. Scan was in order and scheduled for Aug. 19th. Thankfully those results showed that the cancer did not spread to any organs/lymph nodes, however his new blood work came back and his tumor markers were at 29. Although his number dropped significantly, it was still necessary to have Chemo. His Chemo treatments started Aug. 28th with a schedule of 5 days of chemo and 2 weeks off x 4...Nov 3rd being his last treatment. Can you believe in 5 short weeks Mike was diagnosed, had surgery, scans and chemo treatment in place. Here’s the story...My whole family has already been hit with this disease more then a family should need to deal with, so you can only imagine the fear when that “C” word was mentioned. If your on my Facebook, you most likely know my brother, heard about him, have gotten to hang out with him, may have had him help you or have him do a project for you. That’s my brother, Mr. fix it... Do you know how it feels to not be able to fix Mr. fix it? Answer is helpless! Since his diagnosis he has been told that he can’t work... At all! He can’t risk getting injured. That means 4-6 months of no second income, but that’s not going to stop the medical bills from rolling in. Please help my brother out. He has great family support and we are all helping the best ways that we can. I know how much it bothers him that he’s not working. He worked up to the day of his surgery. Worrying more about his customers then his own health, with the horrible pain that started this whole journey. Feel free to share this page and thank you so much for your support. Cancer Sucks!!!
