Team Amy Fights Leukemia

Donation protected
Labor Day weekend started with my Mom on the road from Charlotte, NC to visit my sister and me for the weekend. Sadly, what started as an exciting weekend soon took a turn when my big sister, Amy, fainted and fell. Amy went to the hospital for stitches, and four weeks later still hasn’t left. Further medical tests and a bone marrow biopsy revealed that Amy has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Doctors were adamant that they begin a rigorous chemotherapy treatment, because this form of Leukemia progresses rapidly. Unfortunately with this kind of diagnosis, Amy could be in the hospital for a long time. Even after she is released from the hospital, Amy will need care and attention at home from my parents. My parents have taken turns being at her bedside, but complications have arisen and it appears the chemo has already caused significant damage to Amy’s heart. Doctors are working around the clock to help Amy, and right now the best thing for her is to have her loved ones with her, but obviously this is difficult. My Mom and Dad no longer have any leave due to them and expenses are being incurred daily as they travel between work in Charlotte, NC and Duke University hospital in Durham, NC. It is with sincere humility that we now turn to you and ask for your prayers and any financial assistance you are able to give us. Our family will be forever grateful. May God bless you all. Thank you, Mallory Morgan (sister of Amy Morgan)
