Zawadi Vocational School for Girls is becoming a reality!

Mama Valeria Mrema is an African force equal to a herd of charging elephants. Her mission is to educate and empower the marginalized women in her Kilamanjaro region.

Working with her in 2012 and meeting women in the rural villages changed my world view. It takes so little money by our standards to make a huge impact in the lives of those in Africa. Mama's dream is to have a vocational school where girls can safely live and learn how to support themselves in a male-dominated society. She has been given land by the church for her dream school and $40,000 would construct dorms, classrooms, and a kitchen to board 40 girls and instruct 240. What a deal!! If I was Oprah, this school would be built & running now.
