Patrick vs A.L.L.

My name is Paul S Madrazo II and this is my 25 year old brother Patrick C Madrazo. My brother was diagnosed Saturday September 23, 2017 with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell ALL). B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a cancer that affects your "B Lymphocytes" -- white blood cells that grow in the soft center of your bones, called marrow.B lymphocytes are supposed to grow into cells that help you fight infections. But in this disease, they turn into "leukemia" cells that live longer than normal cells and reproduce quickly. They build up in your bone marrow and move into your bloodstream. From there they can spread to other organs in your body.Patrick went in to the doctors Tuesday the 19th of September for his annual physical and for this pain that he was having in his feet and knees. He works at Disneyland and goes to school, which means he is on his feet all day. We thought that he was in pain from being on his feet all day and that it was just gout. On the weekend of the 23rd of September he was excited to go to his first music festival “Life is Beautiful”. Patrick was looking so forward to it since he has never been to a music festival before. He and my cousins left Thursday night to Vegas and arrived there at 3:00AM. Later on that day he received a call at noon from his doctor that he would have to be admitted right away. He flew back on the first day of the festival and was admitted Saturday morning where the doctors confirmed that he has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. We were all shocked to have learned that this is now our reality, Patrick’s reality. Patrick has to take a medical leave from work which will be about 6 to 9 Months and he is still going to try to finish school. I am doing the best I can for Patrick to support him financially with school, car payment, bills, etc. We need any and all help that we can have to help our family and most importantly Patrick through it all and pray for his triumph against ALL.
