Beds for Becky's Orphanage

Beckey's orphanage is a non for profit organization located in senya in the central region of Ghana. It is home to over fifty orphaned children And is maintained entirely due to the passion and hard work of its founders and donations of time and money from volunteers.

Myself and four other girls are living at this orphanage with the children, who are an absolutely wonderful group of kids. There is a lot we would like to change about the lifestyle of these children, but we feel especially strongly about providing a suitable sleeping environment for the kids. Currently, they all sleep in the same room on mats and sheets laid out over the cold concrete floor. They do not have pillows or blankets. With your help, this is something we would like to change.


We would like to buy each child their own mattress. Mattresses are $25 each, and each mattress needs to be covered with rubber for sanitation reasons to ensure that they will be hygienic and sustainable for the kids. The cost to cover a mattress with rubber is $10. We plan on purchasing the materials and sewing everything ourselves.


For $35 you can buy a kid a bed to sleep on. Every little bit helps us to reach our goal, and all money donated will go directly towards this project.
