John Cooke's Recovery

Donation protected

Sometimes life takes a turn very quickly and can change everything in an instant As many of you know, On the afternoon of September 23rd John Cooke was taking a fall drive on his motorcycle when he hit a patch of sand. Johns bike started to wabble, he almost got control when his front tire hit more sand. John was air lifted by Life Link to Regions where he is being cared for in the SICU unit. He broke his collar bone, minor brain bleed, a few fractured ribs, has a punctured lung, some fractures in his neck and spinal cord damage resulting in Paralysis from the neck and below. While at Regions John's heart paused for 25 seconds. John has had a  pacemaker implanted  in case future pauses occur. John will be having surgery to stabilize his spinal cord damage. John is opening his eyes and does seem to acknowledge the loved ones by his side. We are asking our friends, family, neighbors and anyone who can find it in their hearts to help the family financially. John's stay in the hospital will not be short and there will be a lot of appointments following his release, modifications to his home and transportation costs. John will not be returning to work in the near future or possibly ever. We are all aware that even with the best medical insurance the outstanding bills with be very high, travel costs and food, prescriptions, and bills that are acquiring at home are going to start piling up. John is an amazing person, a hard working man who loves his family and friends, a man who loves to build in his wood shop, spend time with the people he loves and is always looking out for the people around him.  John has a huge heart and always wants the best for others. If you can find it in your heart to give anything to help, and if you can't financially just send positive thoughts for John and the family. Everything is appreciated. The money donated will be given to John's wife Steph to help with all financials that will be acquiring through this hard time. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. We are all very thankful for everyone by our side through this and the positive thoughts and prayers are helping, please keep them coming
