Jaxsons Third Open Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Hello there. Our dear Jaxson is scheduled to have his third & hopefully final open heart surgery on November 27th of this year. Jaxson will be having the Fontan Procedure with a possible Fenestration. The Fenestration will be determined while Jaxson is in surgery. For those of you who do not know Jaxsons full story here is a quick overview.. I (Jaxsons Momma) was 20 weeks pregnant when our OBGYN discovered Jaxsons heart had not yet developed all four chambers. At this time the OB wasn't fully alarmed & was hopeful that over the next week or so his heart would fully develop. At our next appointment (about two weeks later) Jaxsons heart unfortunately had made no improvements & we were sent to a high risk OBGYN in the building next door. At this appointment the OB was not able to diagnose what Jaxsons heart condition was but she was however able to tell us it was very abnormal & needed immediate attention from a Cardiologist. The following day we had our Echocardiogram done at the Cardiology office. It was that day at 23 weeks pregnant we were told we most likely would not ever meet our baby boy. Jaxson was diagnosed with Single Ventricle Heart Syndrome. They let us know that we had three possible outcomes, aborting Jaxson that same week, his heart would fail in utero & he would be still born, or he would miraculously make it through my entire pregnancy & have to undergo multiple open heart surgeries. As you can imagine our hearts broke in that doctors office. However, we had no hesitation & decided to continue on with the pregnancy. During the pregnancy I was on very close watch for Jaxsons possible heart failure. I was seen about 4 days a week sometimes even 5 from multiple specialists awaiting the arrival of our son. At every appointment the doctors were stumped & overjoyed that Jaxsons heart was functioning completely normal with no intervention & no signs of heart failure. He was already showing us he was ready to fight. On August 31st at 5:30pm our beautiful boy was born & immediately taken to the NICU. My husband Jonathan was able to go down with him right away & because I did not have an epidural I was down there as soon as the doctor gave me the ok. The next day we were told that Jaxson would be air lifted to CHLA to Dr. Starnes. Two day old Jaxson & I were on our first helicopter ride together before we knew it. Jaxson had his first open heart surgery the Norwood Procedure done a few days later & was in the hospital for 2 weeks after that. His second open heart surgery ( The Glen Procedure) was 6 months later & he went home three weeks later. This third & final surgery has the same risks & unfortunately a longer recovery time period. Our hope is to have our Jaxson home by Thanksgiving. My husband Jonathan will be able to take the first few days off work in order to be with Jaxson during the riskiest time post surgery. After that he will be commuting back & forth from LA to Temecula. I will be staying at the Ronald McDonald house close by with our other son Greyson. Besides our normal monthly bills we will need pay to stay at Ronald McDonald, have extra gas expenses so Jonathan can commute to & from work from the hospital, food expenses & of course whatever else life throws in our direction. Any little bit will help & we ask if you are not able to help financially then to please pray for our sweet boy. Your love & support will not go unnoticed & is so deeply appreciated.
