Please Help Save Chloe (again)

About 1.5 years ago, all of you wonderful people contributed to Chloe's urgent surgery to remove her mandible for aggressive oral melanoma. Since then she has done well without evidence of recurrence. She is seen every 3mo for surveillance (chest x-rays, exams, ultrasounds) as well as receives the melanoma vaccine every 6mo.Last week the vet saw two suspicious lesions in her abdomen by ultrasound, one in her spleen, and the other in or near the liver. Today she saw the veterinary oncologist who repeated the ultrasound. The mass in the spleen is very large and is concerning, as it is very high risk for rupture. If rupture occurs, it would lead to sudden, severe, likely fatal internal bleeding. They do not even want to biopsy it with a needle guided by ultrasound for fear of rupturing the mass. We don't know if the mass is benign or malignant, but it needs to come out immediately! (It will be sent to pathology once removed.)That's not all. They also saw a cystic lesion in her intestines that they suspect is either a cyst or an abscess. During surgery they plan to assess the lesion, and if necessary, remove part of the intestines and reconnect the remaining intestine (a small bowel resection with re-anastomoses). They also plan to take several biopsies of other parts of the bowel to look for potential causes of the lesion. With all of that being said, my sweet girl is being prepped for urgent surgery tonight. The veterinary hospital estimates total cost of $4,500-5,500. Obviously that's not feasible for me on a resident salary! I plan to (hopefully) work out a payment plan with the veterinary hospital. I appreciate anything you can/are willing to contribute to Chloe bear. Every penny is whole heartedly appreciated. (Good thoughts and/or prayers are equally appreciated!) Thanks for taking the time to read this and please keep my girl in your thoughts/prayers today and the next few weeks as she recovers from surgery and we await the pathology results of the splenic mass and the intestinal lesion. Chloe sends kisses to everyone. She truly is the sweetest little girl ever. Thanks y'all.
