Push Through Pain Campaign

Hey guys! Last year myself, Julian Williamson and Lachy Gray walked from my hometown Beverley to Perth (over 130km's) in just 2 days to raise money for kids suffering with Juvenile Arthritis. Last year we raised approximately $3,500! And this year we're hoping to double that! We also have 2 new recruits joint us this year being Sandy Williamson and Cordy Gibbs which is awesome! As some of you know I have suffered from this disease for the past 5 years of my life and it has stopped me from doing a lot of the things that I love simply because it is too painful. This year we will also be raising funds for Diabetes Australia. Julian and Sandy's older sister has suffered from this for the past 16 years!!! and will continue to do so for the rest of her life. Type one diabetes is an auto immune disease with no known cause or cure currently. She wears an insulin pump 24/7 - which basically acts as an artificial pancreas that She controls as her body is unable to produce insulin by itself. She has to test her blood glucose levels 3-6 times a day, to keep her levels within the recommended guidelines of 4.0-8.0. Going below 4.0 for an extended period of time can cause going unconscious, brain damage and death. Having blood readings over 8.0 for an extended period of time cause cause serious eye complications, blindness, liver failure, loss of limbs and also death . With your help and support, this year we will be walking again to raise money for The Juvenile Arthritis Fundraiser and Diabetes Australia. There's a very good chance you or someone you know suffers from one of these debilitating disease. No one deserves to see their parent or child going through such pain!
