Eric Lackey's Medical Fund

Eric Lackey is a server here in Long Beach, but first and foremost he is a great friend to everyone. This might sound like standard fare when the goal is to praise somebody, but Eric is one of the rare people who has the true ability to make anyone, anywhere, smile.

Proof of this came when Eric fell severely sick two weeks ago--a case of bronchitis escalated, despite treatment and antibiotics, until the infection in his right lung was so bad that it very nearly took his life--and an outpouring of friends and family dropped everything they were doing the moment they heard the news, no matter how far away, to stand by his hospital bed because they felt compelled to reciprocate the positive energy Eric has always lived his life by and that he is always giving to other people. Many of us have visited every single day.

This is a testament to how valued and loved he is, and to his incredible innate quality of making people happy.

Which is why we are making an effort to pay that happiness forward to him on Oct. 3 by holding a fundraiser at the Art Theater.

Unfortunately, Eric is now facing down a problem that we are all well-acquainted with: if I get sick, how will I pay for it? Our goal is to help assist Eric's family with this well-known financial obstacle of healthcare. Please donate so we can get Eric smiling again!
