Dominica West Indies.  We were all prepared for the Category 3 hurricane on September 18, 2017.  What we didn't know is, as the eye passed over us, we were in a Category  5 hurricane that would rip all of the island's roofs off, flood and destroy everything inside, that the waves would rise up to 20 feet and take everything in it's way, out to sea.  Businesses, homes, vehicles, roads and people.  You can't prepare for what happened to our beautiful island.

On September 23, my fiance (a Dominica native) and I (from St Thomas) we're evacuated by the US embassy to St Lucia.  We had no time to say bye to family and friends, we grabbed a bag of clothes and boarded the boat, sobbing with tears steaming down our faces.  It was so hard leaving everyone in the state they were in but I knew in my heart we would be able to send help if we could get off island.  We promised to help as we motored out to sea.

We were able to pinpoint on the map of Dominica where helicopters could land to bring aid to both Soufriere and Scottshead.  We were able to let the world know that Scottshead was unaccessible and was not receiving any aid at all.  We stared to raise money to bring basic supplies like food and water to the village of Scottshead and our first delivery was personally brought over from St Lucia on October 2 by my fiance, Akeem, on the same boat that evacuated us.  Special thanks to the owner of the boat, Brian Deveux for allowing us to bring supplies!

We are still raising money to continue bringing in supplies to Scottshead and Gallion on the southern end of the island.  We are helping villagers with boat passage to other parts of the island, we are raising money to help villagers relocate to other islands, as needed.  We are doing everything we can to instill our people receive aid and can start to rebuild.

We been asked by people in Scottshead to supply batteries, solar powered phone chargers, minutes for cell phones, items like juice, sugar and flour, battery or solar powered lights, portable radios, etc.

We will continue to come through for our community.  And welcome them to come stay in St Lucia with us, in our home, if they need to.

Your continued support helps us accomplish this mission. We and the community we're serving, thanks you very much.  It's going to be a long road to recovery.  We promise to continue our mission.
