Jaime M. Sanchez is the youngest of three siblings, son to Jannette and Jaime Sanchez. As a young child his dream was to become a successful attorney who would be able to use the justice system for good and assist those in need. After graduating Pacific High School in San Bernardino in 2008, he went on to attend California State University Monterey Bay making him the second University Graduate in his imitate family in 2014. During his time at CSUMB he made lots of friends but most importantly he joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a brotherhood of outstanding young men ready to take on the worlds challenges as a unit. After some time working as a paralegal, Jaime was finally able to pass the LSAT and start Law School. His dream was on its way to take off from the ground.

A short time into his first semester Jaime began to feel a sharp pain in lower back. Associating it to back pain caused by picking up boxes he continued to work and attend law school. As days turned in to weeks the pain progressed. After a month he finally went to get a MRI in Mexicali due to the cheap rates as he did not have medical insurance. The Mexican doctor stated he located a small tumor or sisst the size of a green pea. Jaime was persuaded by his mother and sisters to obtain a second opinion, in which he was advised his lower limber had a bit of nerve damage and required treatment, at which time he began to get a sharp pain in his left leg to the point he cried and yelled of the pain. No knowing what to do he would go to the emergency room.

A few days later a workman’s comp doctor advised him there was an abnormal tumor located in the pelvic area. At which at time, the doctor could only suggest it could be cancer. Given the correct treatment and his age it could be treatable. There was no time to waste. Within two months the tumor had grown from a few 8cm the size of an avocado.

On August 21, 2017 Jaime Sanchez at the young age of 27 years old; sat in a doctor’s office alongside his mother listened as to the diagnose and the words no one is prepared to hear “You have Cancer”. Jaime was advised to go to Cedars-Sinai by family members and his aunt Jenny who works at Cedars Sinai in the oncologist department. On August 22, 2017, Jaime was admitted and after further testing diagnosed with Stage 3 Sarcoma Cancer.

Sarcoma Cancer is a malignant cancer. In Jaime’s case it’s based on the number and location of the tumors. Jaime is lucky at this time it is only tumor located on his left pelvic area. The tumor is attacking his nervous system making is difficult to walk or sit. Jaime currently has three teams of doctors assisting him with his treatment plan. At this point the medical prognosis is six months of chemo and radiation along with mass doses of narcotics for his pain. According to the oncologist team it will be a long painful road ahead. As this is the first case of Sarcoma Cancer in the nerve system.

Jaime’s life has been turned upside down. His dream of becoming an attorney is now on hold, the thought of his family concerned of all the medical expenses associated with his Chemo and Radiation treatments. Not to mention the home care. Sarcoma Cancer is a rear illness and the location where the tumor is located is the first of its kind. Although the doctors have stated to take the process one day at a time; we are asking for your assistance; please donate to save Jaime’s life. The Sanchez family will soon post additional information thru Social Media in regards to near future fund raising events.
