The Fight For Taylor

My beautiful, loving, carefree, baby sister who is 18 was recently diagnosed with Esthesioneuroblastoma also known as Olfactory neuroblastoma which is a very rare cancer. It is currently on her left nare and extends into her sinus , orbit, and maxilla. She will have to have surgery and we just now found out she will have to go through radiation and Chemotherapy. We also found out that there is small chance that she will have to have part of her cheek removed, a fair chance of having part of her nose removed and a 20-30% chance she will lose her eye. On a better note it is curable and everything can be reconstructed. We initially went in for what we thought would be a small surgery on Tuesday September 5th, they went in through her nose to remove what we thought was a nasal polyp and fungal infection, but due to some heavy bleeding they were forced to stop the surgery. Dr. Ron Allen acted quickly and was able to snip a part of what we thought at the time was an infection and sent it off for a biopsy that was when we were informed on Thursday September 7th that she has a cancerous tumor. She then traveled to Emory on Wednesday, September 13th where she had a CT and was referred to another surgeon due to severity. She recently traveled back to Emory Tuesday, September 19th to have her MRI and we were informed about treatment. Her pre op will be Monday, October 2nd and her surgery will be on Tuesday, October 3rd. As of right now there is no coverage on insurance, we have two insurance companies who are arguing about who is going to pay. For travel, surgery cost, radiation, and chemo we are asking for any donations. We will all be traveling to be with Taylor at this time. The biggest thing we can ask from everyone right now even if you are unable to donate is prayer. God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers and we are very confident that she can beat this.
