Propel Courtenay to Uganda

Hi!  I'm Courtenay DeHoff a television host and photojournalist raising funds to travel to Uganda for 2-3 weeks with "Propel Teaching" (propelteaching.org). 

Propel Teaching was started a year and a half ago by Mickey Woolard.  Propel's focus is creating sustainable communities in Uganda centered around academics.

My hope in Uganda is to shoot 5-10 videos that shed light on the daily issues they face and how organizations like "Propel Teaching" are helping and how people around the world can help without ever leaving their homes.

The country of Uganda is made up of the youngest demographic in the world (50% of population under 14) and one of the poorest.  With half the population living on less than $1.00 per day affording an education can be extremely difficult.  

During my time in Uganda I will travel to the dozens of schools Propel works with, shooting videos that shed light on all aspects of creating sustainable school communities including such things as -- 

-Teacher Training 
-Nutrition Programs
-Gardening (Creating sustainable food sources)
-Health & Wellness
-Sports Camp
- Church 
-Craft Groups (Sustainble income)

The funds I collect will be used towards airfare, accommodations, vaccinations, travel visa, camera equipment (microphones, traveling backpack, backup batteries, hard drives, SD cards ect.).  

I will donate 10% of each donation to my page directly to "Propel Teaching".  Even the smallest donation to Propel can leave a lasting impact!
