10 Million Steps Walking Across America

We have set up this page in support of a wonderful young man named Benjamin Lee who is bravely Walking Across America solely by foot, not just as a personal challenge but to raise money for his favourite charity, Oxfam.
Ben began his journey back in May when he flew from his hometown of Melbourne, Australia to San Francisco to begin his massive walk from West to East Coast of the United States of America.
He has faced many challenges along the way, and wondered on more than one occasion if he can complete it, but with guts and raw determination, he has pushed through towards the completion of his journey. I've known Ben all his life, and he is no quitter, just a down to earth good guy who is trying to make a positive difference to this world.
So why the need for this donation page?
Ben has ploughed his entire savings into this trip to cover his personal expenses for food, accommodation, repairs to Barney (his cart), clothing, replacement shoes (he's into his 3rd pair now), and sadly has underestimated how much everything would cost. He is past the half way mark now, into State number 6 (Iowa) and as Ben says:-
He has walked more than 2000miles/3200 km... or 35,200 soccer fields!

Still, there are many more miles and nights to go, and he hopes to beat the snow and arrive at his final destination before the New Year arrives, somewhere south of New York.
This page is to seek support and sponsors from people who are willing and able to help Ben meet his ongoing costs to get through the rest of his journey. Sponsor him for the cost of a meal, a drink, overnight accommodation, new walking shoes, new tires for Barney (his cart), a cold beer, anything would be appreciated!
We have estimated $4,000 to get him through the next 3 months or so but if more money is raised beyond his requirements, the extra dollars will be added to his Oxfam Donation Pages.
Ben turns 25 next week, it would be great to be able to send him a birthday message to say people care about what he is doing and are offering their support. No amount is too small, or too big for that matter! You can be assured that every cent will go to a good cause, providing nourishment and shelter for him until the end, and with anything leftover, it will go towards meeting or hopefully exceeding his Oxfam target.
