APRIL WALDING MEMORIAL FUND
Donation protected
The April Walding Memorial Fund is an effort to raise money for the children’s reading tower at the Dothan, Alabama Main Library to be named after April Walding. April passed away recently, at age thirty-one, from complications due to a rare genetic condition. Her condition created limitations and disabilities for her. Although April was not able to acquire the skill of reading, she loved books. April frequently went home with more than forty books after each of her Library visits. She enjoyed being read to and spent countless hours looking at picture books and making up her own stories. April also took great pleasure in attending Story and Craft Hour and Tail Waggin’ Tutors. Going to the library was April’s favorite outing.
As well as memorializing April, our hope is that more children with disabilities will be encouraged to visit the library and take advantage of what the library provides. There would be no greater memorial to April than for other children to experience the same joy April found in the Library.
Thank you all,
April's Mom, Jeanne
