Hearing Aides For Dylan

This young man has overcome so many obstacles. He lost his step dad to a tragic death in 2009 and his father in 2010. As if that's not enough, On Halloween morning 2014, he was with the FFA in Louisville, Kentucky on a school trip when his life was turned upside down. He went into diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) & was hundreds of miles from home.
After multiple trips to the ER over the following few months, his gallbladder quit functioning & had to be removed. So many tiny stones crystallized the surrounding ducts that 6 weeks later, he had an acute episode of liver failure & ended up in emergency surgery.
His diabetes is an ongoing battle & keeps his immune system low. Over the past year or more, He's been on one antibiotic after another for sinus infections & was sent to the ENT. A CT Scan revealed a fungus had invaded his sinuses, growing through nasal bone with massive amounts of nasal polyps that had to be removed. He underwent a major surgery just 3 weeks ago while being monitored under a brain scan.
He also learned that day, on his 19th birthday, that he is going deaf. Sensorineural damage that will never be reversed. The only hope is hearing aides.
Hearing Aides that are not covered under insurance. Thousands of dollars are spent to keep his insurance going, while thousands more have to pay for the high priced insulin (there is no generic) & pump supplies that keep him alive from day to day. The cost of hearing aides is too extreme at this time. The medical bills alone over the past few years are hundreds of thousands of dollars.
His daily routine would make most throw in the towel.  Sinus flushes,  nasal sprays,  steroid flushes, oral meds, blood sugar checks 8 to 10 times a day,  & the same number of injections. Every single bite of food that enters his mouth that contains a carbohydrate has to be covered with insulin.
Why do some have to face such burdens in life, while others never do? GOD has a plan for this young man & I know one day we'll see the bigger picture. He's the kindest, most gentle soul I know. Everyday he steps up to help with his nieces where there own father never did. He's been there through it all. From dance competitions to fall festivals and so much more.
He desires to hear & we're asking for help. Hearing Aides cost $5000 to $10,000 plus dollars. Watching him try a pair with tears rolling down his face because he could hear things was incredible & sad all at the same time.
There's many more that I know we can help as well. One day he'll have the greatest testimony ever. May GOD bless you. If you can't give, prayers are always welcome.
We believe in the power of prayer.
