<div>A year ago we met the neediest families from Ukunda, Kenya, families with disabled children. These kids (most of them with cerebral paralysis) need attention 24/7, and suffer from parents abandonment, leaving them in terrible life conditions.

<div>For the past year Beltrán Tornos, Tristán Sartorius, and Gonzalo Martín, have been working hand by hand with Mama Gladys, Ukunda local and human rights defender, building a center for these families to live in community, and allowing them to have a dignified life. This center, now in construction, will include 14 bedrooms (for 14 families), a physiotherapist room for the kids to get treated, a communal kitchen, a workshop for the parents to produce ceramics and sell them, and an orchard for them to grow their own food.

<div>With the donations we received last year, we were able to buy land in Ukunda, build a well to allow these families access to water, a perimeter wall for their safety, 5 bedrooms with bathrooms and a kitchen, as well as a physiotherapy room to treat the needy children. Now we have only one mission left, to finish the last 9 bedrooms so that the rest of the families can also start their new life. The total cost to finish the work is 60,000 euros, a challenging goal but one that we will certainly be able to achieve together.

<div>Hace un año conocimos a las familias más necesitadas de Ukunda (Kenia), familias con niños con discapacidad. Estos niños (la mayoría con parálisis cerebral) necesitan atención 24 horas al día, 7 días a la semana, y sufren el abandono de sus padres, dejándoles en unas condiciones de vida terribles.

<div>Desde hace un año Beltrán Tornos, Tristán Sartorius y Gonzalo Martín, trabajan mano a mano con Mama Gladys, local de Ukunda y defensora de los derechos humanos, en la construcción de un centro para que estas familias vivan en comunidad y puedan disfrutar de una vida digna. Este centro, ahora en construcción, incluirá 14 habitaciones (para 14 familias), una sala de fisioterapia para que los niños reciban tratamiento, una cocina comunitaria, un taller para que los padres produzcan cerámica y la vendan, y un huerto para que cultiven sus propios alimentos.

<div>Con las donaciones que recibimos el año pasado, pudimos comprar un terreno en Ukunda, construir un pozo para que estas familias tuvieran acceso al agua, un muro perimetral para su seguridad, 5 habitaciones con baño y una cocina, así como una sala de fisioterapia para tratar a los niños necesitados. Ahora sólo nos queda una misión, terminar los últimos 9 dormitorios para que el resto de las familias también puedan empezar su nueva vida. El coste total para terminar la obra es de 60.000 euros, un objetivo difícil pero que sin duda podremos alcanzar juntos.
