Without going into too much detail, I am desperate or I wouldn't be doing this.
Many of you know that after two strokes and a life-threatening infection which left me with a permanent lymph-edema, I have lived on disability for many years. It would have been much worse without the help of my partner of almost 20 years. I also work a part-time job to bring in a little extra.
I have devoted as much time as I could over the years to volunteering and to a variety of charitable causes and to help the needy.
I'm only telling you this because now I need help. My partner, for reasons he will not share with me, has abandoned me without warning. Many of you know the details and sad circumstances that are involved.
The landlord informs me that the rent has not been paid for this month. Soon I will be two months behind. The landlord is threatening to evict me and I have no where to go except the street. I want desperately to stay in this city, but this apartment is now too expensive for me. I don't have a penny to move my 30 years of accumulated possessions. My family cannot help and I cannot ask my handful of close friends for huge amounts of money. I'm hoping that if a bunch of you can give a little, it'll add up to help me move and find a place I can afford. Otherwise, I'm on the street.
