Hello, my name is Katy, I'm a student at The University of Wisconsin- River Falls and am studying Animal Welfare. I have recently been given the opportunity to study abroad in Ireland, through World Endeavors; there I will be interning at The Ireland Donkey Sanctuary. This is the one of largest donkey sanctuaries, with over 2,500 on the property and many already adopted. I am extremely passionate about Animal Welfare and about animals in general so when I heard about this internship it sounded like a perfect match. I grew up on a small farm in Michigan and moved to Wisconsin for college, sadly leaving behind my family and animals. I did this to expand my knowledge of the world and grow as a person. I hope to keep growing and I know working in welfare and with people who have the same passion as me could open up so many opportunities.

I currently work a part-time job at the customer service of my local grocery store, unfortunately this won't be enough to cover the costs. I have been saving up for years to be able to move to Wisconsin and pay for college, leaving very little funds to go toward such an amazing opportunity. There is a $500 down payment due by February 20, 2018, and the other approximately $6,000 due April 1st- 1 month before I leave. This money will go towards both the 2 months I will be living in Ireland, and my plane ticket. I can apply for more loans if need be, and have applied for scholarships, but could really use some extra help.
