The Madigan Family Fundraiser

Nell, Paul and Rylie Madigan are the most caring and loving family. They decided a little over a year ago to pick up and move from Tarrytown, NY to the beautiful island of St. John USVI to begin a new chapter in their life. This magical island embraced them with open arms. When they got there Nell got a job as a kindergarten teacher at Gifft Hill School, where Rylie would also attend and Paul got a job at the beautiful restaurant of Knox & Ollies at the Westin. So many great adventures they were just beginning on this island. Then Wednesday September 8th happened and hurricane Irma Category 5 Storm decided to make a visit and within 24 hours the island was devastated. No electricity, only one spot on the island with cell service, trees down everywhere, and houses ruined. They survived the storm but nell said," it was the scariest 12 hours of my entire life." They were optimistic that the island would come together to rebuild what was so special to all. Unfortunately, that is not the case there is no food, medical supplies and people have started looting. Paul cannot get access to his refill of medication and with very little things available they are leaving everything they have and coming back to Brooklyn. Over the next week they are figuring out ways to get off the island and back stateside. They will be coming back to Brooklyn with nothing except the clothes in their suitcase. Nell is my best friend and it pains me to hear her cry that they have nothing. So I'm turning to all of you friends, family and strangers to please help the Madigan family out so they can begin to rebuild their life, get back on their feet and ease some of the struggle that they are going through. Anything helps even prayers.
