On Wednesday, May 23rd, Marlee and Jonathan Hale arrived at the hospital prepared to bring their first born into the world. While in triage the nurses were having a difficult time finding a strong heartbeat so Marlee was taken in for an emergency c-section. Shortly after, Beau Anderson Hale was born a solid 8lbs 6oz, however, Beau was not breathing and unable to breath on his own. The nurses had to resuscitate Beau several times prior to rushing him to the NICU. Beau spent the next 7 days fighting for his life in the NICU while the doctors ran tests and scans to determine if he could recover from this.
After all the tests were completed and the scans had been analyzed, Marlee and Jonathan received the news that no parent wants to hear. The oxygen deprivation Beau experienced caused brain damage that was too severe to recover from, and Beau’s time on this Earth would be short. As you can imagine, Marlee and Jonathan are heartbroken, and this prognosis left many more questions than answers. Despite the odds, Marlee and Jonathan wanted to make sure that they gave Beau a chance. As long as Beau was fighting and improving they were right by his side fighting with him. After a couple more days Beau was not improving and it became clear that God has a bigger plan for Beau.
Currently, Beau is out of the NICU and on a comfort care protocol to ensure that the time he has on this Earth is pain free. Beau is getting to spend a lot of time cuddling with his Mommy and Daddy. Recently, Marlee and Jonathan took Beau for a walk around the hospital campus and brought their two dogs up to meet him. The amount of love Beau has brought out of all who have come in contact with him can not be overstated. We’re all taken back by how many lives Beau has impacted in such a short amount of time.
Since Beau’s birthday on 5/23, many people have been asking how they can help. So naturally, We have been asking everyone to pray for a miracle. When we told Marlee and Jon that we were having so many people praying for a miracle their response was simply, “We already have our miracle, and it’s BEAU.” The resolve and the strength of the Hale family is truly remarkable. Riddled with adversity as they start their family, however, their Faith, love for each other, and their love for Beau is unconditional. We continue to ask for prayers for Marlee, Jonathan, and Beau as each day has its challenges.
