Hi Everyone,
My name is Janay and I just got accepted to Duke University, Fuqua School of Business, Weekend Executive MBA program beginning in Fall 2021. I am SO overjoyed as this has been something I have been praying and hoping for for such a long time. I recently graduated from Georgetown University with my Masters in Finance, so this is super exciting to be able to continue my career and my goals with the help of this degree. As a first generation college student and graduate, I do all of this to make my mom proud as she's my biggest and only supporter.
Just four years ago, I was working as a receptionist part-time, just graduated undergrad and not knowing anything I wanted to do with my life. A series of events led me to a career in business and I have been determined to learn and grow as much in my field as possible. I recently had to buy a car and am currently moving from Washington, DC to MD because the rent here is ridiculously high. Those major life changes have completely emptied out my savings.
I would completely rely on student loans to pay for school as my degree in total will cost around $146,000. The only funds I am asking for help with is the deposit to secure my spot within the program.
They are requiring me to pay $6,000 by 12/2/2020. I am super excited for this opportunity but understanding right now I do not have that money and honestly don't make enough to have that kind of money by December. I understand COVID-19 has caused a ton of financial limitations for people, and truly having to pay for this large amount wasn't expected but I really would love the chance to explore this opportunity.
