I am starting this gofundme to get help to bring my son home. I have already tapped out my personal resources and am now watching in horror as my son is railroaded by the criminal justice system due to a lack of access to adequate representation.
A little background on my son who we all call Tae. Tae is my oldest son of four children, he is a kind, big hearted person who considers himself a protector of his family and always has. He is a former IEP ( Individualized Education Program) student who pressed on despite his many challenges with Traumatic Brain Injury and ADHD to graduate high school and early at that! When he was arrested he was establishing himself as an entrepreneur and designer by creating a clothing line that reflected his community and where his family grew up. His purpose is to be able to take care of his family, provide jobs for his community, and those he loves.
The charges my son are facing are incredibly excessive in comparison to any damage to property or person. He was defending his little sister from a pack of 30 bullies, some of who have bullied her since middle school. The people were threatening violence to my youngest daughter and we all felt our lives were in danger. My son has been cooperative with the district attorney in his case and has not impeded the trial in anyway. We have secured an attorney but to get my son the adequate representation he will need, we will need support from the community.
If you believe in equality in justice, and all people having equal access to adequate representation please donate to my sons legal fund. Any leftover funds from defense will either go to my sons commissary if he is sentenced to any time, and to help fund his clothing line when he returns home.
