Angelina is a beautiful, vibrant 17 year old girl that was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. A mediastinal mass formed in her right lung, and the lymphoma has spread to her bones. She is currently undergoing treatment at Maria Ferera Childrens Hospital in Westchester County. Her prognosis is very promising, and we are remaining positive that she is strong and will fight this like the true warrior that she is.
With her stay at Westchester Medical comes numerous, unexpected expenses, as well as some medical expenses that will not be covered. Angelina has been doing various forms of research on the effects of chemotherapy on her body, skin, and hair, and how to care for herself to avoid infections and fevers. She has compiled a list of her needs when she arrives home after treatment, which includes everything from the food she must eat to the soap she can use, as well as her choice of color in wigs.
I am reaching out and asking for assistance in meeting the needs of both of my children. Angelina has a 13 year old brother, AJ, who is her number one "fan." Angelina will be returning home within a couple of days, and great measures have to be taken to ensure the utmost sanitary conditions so that she can recover in a safe environment.
The next few months will see many expenses I am not prepared for, including travel expenses, medical supplies for home, personal care products for Angelina, and medical expenses we were warned may not be covered. I am reaching out to all of the Angels on Angelinas side for some help.
