Sweet Monte Needs Surgery

Sweet Monte came to me in Dec 2015. He had spent most of his life in shelters. First Tucson then he was moved to Sedona with hopes of being adopted. One day while I was on Facebook, I came across a post with Montes amazing smiley face. Once I shared it, a client that had previously adopted one of my fosters, became interested in Monte. Unfortunately it did not work out once they adopted Monte. After making a heartbreaking decision that they just couldn't keep Monte they called the contact from Sedona . They were going to euthanize Monte if he went back. It was close to Christmas, shelters were full. Montes adopters couldn't bear to have this happen, nor could I. Monte was a good boy. He just needed a lot of time and patience. I offered to take Monte in. Did I mention that Monte is Deaf? I'd never worked with a deaf dog. It took time for me to learn how Monte perceived the world. I developed my own sign language as Monte and I bonded. He trusts me and the other dogs now. Monte is Home❤️One night before bed, Monte was laying on the couch with me. Before bed, all the dogs get a treat, Monte got excited. He jumped off the couch, to the ottoman and then turned to jump to the floor when he hit and yelped in pain. He looked at me with the saddest "help me eyes". Monte is fearful going to the vet. He has to be sedated each time. Sadly Monte needs TPLO Surgery for a Cruciate tear. Unfortunately this is very expensive surgery. Monte is scheduled to have a consult with a Scottsdale surgeon on Sept. 20. All those who know me understand I give all I've got to the care of my dogs and Fosters. Any help would be so very greatly appreciated.
