Redmond Family Hurricane Relief Fund

Hello. My name is Selena Alvarez. I started this campaign to raise funds for Joanna and her family. Joanna and I are co-workers. Joanna, Nick, lil' Nick, and baby Emma have endured the unimaginable this past week. Hurricane Harvey brought unforseen amounts of rain and with it flooding. Joanna and her family did not expect any water in their neighborhood. They woke up early Saturday morning to water already coming into their home. They had very little time to move what they could to the 2nd floor of their home before leaving to a safe place. With the hopes of having minimal damage. The video shown is of Joanna and Nicks neighborhood. Nick returned to their home yesterday to find the water made it to the 2nd floor of their home destroying everything they own. They lost everything their house, car, and personal belongings. Nick's car is totaled after being totally submerged for a few days. Nick has no transportation to his weekday job. They both work weekends at Joannas parents store but that was looted and vandalized. She does not know when the store will be ready to open. I have no doubt that if you knew Joanna and her family that you would have a hard time not falling in love with them. They have a real sense of community and would not hesitate helping anyone in need. I would love to do the same for her in her time of need. They would use the donation mostly to purchase the immediate necessities for their children. Joanna will have immediate access to the funds so she can start purchasing these necessities.  Anything you can contribute would be appreciated. She is very concerned about her kids. Being able to feed and clothe them. This is heartbreaking... This time humbles us all. We take for granted the necessities that come so easily to us. I cannot imagine a sense of security one day then the next being homeless with no job, house, and vehicle.
