Yati Djauhari's Funeral Fund

First, we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for supporting my mom through her battle with colon cancer. Any gesture, large or small, did not go unnoticed by her, or us.

In April 2017, my mother was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer after being in remission for a year. The last several months she has been in immense chronic pain, and her family and friends have done their best attending to Yati making sure that her last months were as comfortable and fulfilled as possible.

Wednesday August 30th, we admitted her to the hospital, and later that evening she passed away painless and peacefully around immediate family at 10:10 pm.

In Islamic tradition, the body must be returned to Allah as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours. If you knew my mom, you knew she was the most selfless, generous, thoughtful, caring, nurturing, hilarious, outgoing, fun-filled and STRONG woman. I really emphasize strong because I don't know anyone who could endure what she has gone through. She always made sure everyone was having a good time, and that no one was ever left out. She never judged you, and she would give her last dollar and offer a roof to anyone. She was truly the most loving, warm person I've ever known. And if you didn't know her, maybe you know us. Ade, Myra, and Q.

We are heartbroken by her loss. We wouldn't ask for help if we didn't need it, but we are burying our mother tomorrow morning, and we are gathering as much money as possible to help her funeral costs. We will be burying her where our father is, and we are thankful to any contribution to help us achieve that. It's been a very long journey for all of us, and again, whether you were a shoulder to cry on, or visited our mom to raise her spirits, we truly thank you and are very lucky to have you all as friends.

We welcome ALL friends of hers and ours to the funeral.
