NORWEST GALLERY OF ART NEEDS YOU!!!

We are asking each person from our community to donate $10-$20 to help our community gallery. All donations will go to our 2022 programs and our facility costs and operations.

We understand that things are tough for everyone right now.  Your kindness is appreciated and will be celebrated with a THANK YOU party and our continued programming.

Thank you for your support during this unfortunate time.

ABOUT US:

In our two-year existence, Norwest Gallery of Art (Norwest Community Collaborative 501c3) has provided a communal space for exploratory expression and critical thinking. A hub for contemporary African and African American art locally, nationally, and internationally. Artists and visitors are met with reflections of culture in a supportive community within Detroit's North Rosedale Park neighborhood to exchange ideas, learn, and share resources. We invite you to be a part of our growth and experience the synergy.

More About The Gallery:

Norwest Gallery of Art is an open and safe artistic space for our surrounding community for a variety of events and projects. Events like the “HairArchy Exhibition” film screening and artist talk packed the gallery with a diverse audience and provided national attention to Norwest Gallery. The “Behind the Seen” talk sponsored by the Detroit Institute of Arts, drew especially from the senior community in Grandmont Rosedale. The Gallery space has been used for several exhibitions and events that draw residents and local business owners from a wide variety of backgrounds. Local authors have given book talks, fitness and health classes have been held at the gallery, residents have rented the space for baby showers, bridal showers, product launches, and this past winter a couple got married in our space because of their appreciation and love for the arts. The community sees Norwest Gallery of Art as a home, an inviting and beautiful place to learn, gather, exercise, and celebrate art. The exhibitions are designed to invite and engage residents from as close as around the block and as far as Berlin. The Gallery has turned the neighborhood into an international hub for contemporary art with plans to expand into a museum that will be a staple for creative arts and culture in the community. NGA welcomes this varied use of its space and sees the activities as the community’s clear support.

As a Knight Arts Challenge Matching Grant winner in 2018, the Gallery welcomes this varied use of its space and sees the activities as the community’s clear support.
