Mama Velia's Road To Recovery!

Velia Willard is a mother to 3 boys and continues to share her love with her family, especially her grandchildren, Damian, Evan, Brooke and Blake. Her days are filled with taking care of her Diabetic husband that has difficulty ambulating without a cane, while loyally serving her church community and friends. She has been a part of her church choir for over 20 years. She has never hesitated to offer a helping hand to a person in need by providing them with shelter in her home, food, a ride or helping fundraise for her church.

Recently, Velia suffered a fall that led to a dislocated knee and was rushed to the emergency room. After many hours they discovered she ruptured her popliteal artery and went into emergency surgery to save her leg. After 3 surgeries in 2 different hospitals, we all came to the realization that her leg was not improving. Before more complications developed, an above the knee amputation was required. August 29th marks the day Velia started her new journey.

Velia has begun physical and occupational therapy and is on her road to recovery. We hope her leg heals soon so she can be walking with a prosthetic leg. Even though her leg was taken, her spirit and faith in God remain strong.

Velia was still working to make ends meet and the loss of income will impact her family. We humbly ask that you help Velia in her recovery with a financial donation.
