Anyone who knows Amy knows that her passion for teaching preschool is unparalleled. The joy she brings to her classroom is contagious and each child who walks through her door finds a safe place to explore, learn and grow. I know this from personal experience, having had the amazing opportunity to work with her last year. She regularly said to me, "Can you believe I get paid to do this?! Best job ever!" Unfortunately, as much as she loves those kiddos, their constant drippy noses, colds, fevers, coughs and other ailments don't make for a safe environment for someone going through chemo. Because of this, Amy has had to make the heart-wrenching decision to take a leave of absence this year. Aside from the pain of missing her students, this also leaves a large hole in her family's finances.
I am setting up this fund in the hopes that we can help ease this burden by covering her lost wages. Her salary is what has allowed her three children to explore their own passions, from soccer to gymnastics to drama. Any amount helps! Whether you can give $5 or $500, please know it will go a long way to helping Amy and her family maintain some sort of "normal" during this very abnormal season.
Thank you for your generosity and, most importantly, for being a part of my sister's life. She is blessed beyond measure by your kindness and support.
