HELP A SISTER OUT

Donation protected
My dearest Sass Sorority Sisters,
My mind wanders to last years festivities and all the amazing moments of laughter and indulgence we had. Having a birthday in December holds a sacred space in my mind and a responsability to give as we have been given to. This year I am reaching out to ask for assistance for one of our members, my oldest friend Cathy.  You met Cathy at my party, always a helper and mostly quiet.  She is an amazing soul that has already endured too much. Cathy works extremely hard assisting at a farm working with horses in her small town of Tarboro, North Carolina.  Cathy also works with families and individuals in her community and keeps their domestic animals while they go away. Cathy lives as many Americans do caring for her self with the income she can earn with her own two hands. Cathy has been a breast cancer sufferer for more than 5 years now.  This June she found out the cancer had come back and had the first of her breasts removed.  I was so sad to hear after catching up with the news, that Cathy had no family or support to assist her during this emotional and physical trial.  She didn't have a person besides a "client" who could pick her up from the hospital. Reluctantly, the client attended her first post surgery appointment asking "if Cathy could drive" so that the client could return to France where she summers and Cathy cares for her precious animals. She has been advised to have the other Mastectomy done this December.  She will endure another ehaustive surgery without any hopes of reconstruction.

She and I met as neighbors often walking to school or playing "red-rover" or games at each others houses, she has always kept in touch and visited a few times over the years.  She has been my amazing cheerleader and supporter of all of my experiences, celebrations and joys. She has always loved animals and chose to move to North Carolina after her house burnt down some 10 years ago, she lost every personal item with no means to replace them.  Cathy is very much alone in this struggle.

This Birthday and this Christmas I would like you all to lend a financial hand to an extremely wonderful person who truly needs our help.  Every year I pick a family or individual that someone has told me of a need..this year someone very close to me is in need.  During surgery and post surgery Cathy is not able to work. She is a very determined woman and will not go into detail of her needs but I am sure my estimate is low.  Nothing fills my cup more than giving to others.  Whether its indulgent chocolate on your pillow or assisting a stranger to get their gas turned on before a cold winters storm.  These are the things that make our lives fulfilled and matter.

Once I receive funds I will fly up to Tarboro, about a 7 hour drive from Atlanta, and hopefully be there for her surgery.  (Right now she is at the mercy of her doctors schedules and cannot request a date only has to go when she is called). I will share the good tidings of our wonderful group of supporters and hope this DECEMBER we can make a difference.  I am asking this of you for my December Christmas and Birthday wish!
Thank you!
