Lough Erne Flood Relief

I'm Joanna Bailey, the president of Lough Erne Condominium's Fountain Lake Association Board of Directors and a 16 year resident, on Saturday into Sunday, Aug 26 & 27, Bradenton, FL received 22 inches of rain and parts of our town were flooded. 6 families in Lough Erne condominums including myself were flooded with no flood insurance. We are in the midst of clean-up, drying out and repairs/replacing the items damaged due to high water. Any funds collected, will be distributed equally among the 6 families. Some families have lived in the complex 25+ years and have never flooded so the need for flood insurance was not an issue. Due to the severity of Houston's flooding, we know that our situation has been overlooked except in the local area.

We have come close to flooding before but since Fountain Lake Apartments took away their preserve and filled it all in with concrete and built the new apartments the water has even less ground to absorb it all. We are not in a flood zone so none of us had flood insurance.

I will be withdrawing the funds to my account and will divide the funds equally among the 6 families (including myself) by writing them checks by October 1st, 2017.
