I'm Tiquella, a mom of (8),6 children & 2 dogs, I'm also a RN who cares for people for a living. Now my family is in need of care!
Due to hurricane Harvey: our house is flooded and we were forced to flee at 1:00 a.m. on 8/27/17, as we watched the water enclose our back and front porch. We have no family here and know few people in Texas personally as we moved here from IL just a few years ago.
We loaded or truck with essentials and were able to leave the area heading north. Not knowing where we would go... just that we needed to get as far North from the flooding ad possible! We have never experienced anything like this in our life!
As i look back i am soo grateful I loaded my family up when I did or i don't know how we would have made it. Now we are in a hotel and need help. I don't know how we will rebuild from this. I've worked soo hard since i was a teenager, and to see it all float by in an instant is heart wrenching.
Firstly we need a home. For a family our size to rent that's a minimum $5,000 moving expenses. All their just purchased school clothes and shoes are gone... Musical instruments... Everything that holds a family of our size in a stable state are gone.
