Throwing a Lifeline to Luralynn and Don!
Dear Friends of Don and Luralynn,
My name is Tom Perkins. I am the Regional Asst. Director for
a collegiate mission in the mid-Atlantic. I am writing you on behalf of the
Evans' and for their financial needs. Let me say, straight up, I believe this is
God's idea. The Evans never asked for our help.
My wife, Ann, and I have known Don and Luralynn going on
three decades. We first met Luralynn as a single Airman and then Don as a staff
sergeant. They were in our young couples study at Ramstein Air Force Base in
Germany. As we got to know Luralynn, I confess my curmudgeon spirit could not
believe anyone loved Jesus that much. Yeah, right, I sure pegged that one. Both
were eager to grow and both were teachable and transparent.
I cannot believe that Luralynn is Home. Oh, how we miss her and her gracious smile and words. Maranatha!
We have been to the Evans' home and they have graciously
entertained us, along with their three children. They live both frugally and
joyfully. (Some day I hope to have that figured out too.) We all know how
faithfully the Evans' serve their Savior every day in EVERY way. I told Don this
summer that he should be the one teaching the class on serving your wives. He
leaves us all in the dust.
Now Don and the children have a need - a BIG need - for some
financial reserves. Associated costs, moving expenses, school tuition, etc. depletes savings. Would you prayerfully
consider "giving hilariously"
(2 Corinthians 9:7) to meet these needs? Ann and
I are praying that all of us could give something - $25 to $2500. If you use
the "Go Fund Me" icon, those funds will go directly into the
Evans account. Who knows, God may be asking you to help "for such a time as
this." Thank you for your kind consideration toward the needs of Don and the children and, PLEASE, continue to pray for them.
Your
brother in Christ,
Tom
