All Of Bill's Medical Bills

On August 2, 2017 Bill went into the Emergency Room with headache complaints that turned into a double brain aneurysm, a brain bleed, and some serious emergency surgery. His wife Jean, found him in the bathroom shortly before, slouched over and feeling very weak. Bill, being the stubborn guy he is, refused to allow her to call an ambulance. He asked her to take him to the walk-in clinic, and she agreed. Little did Bill know, Jean's plan was to take him to the Emergency Room. Thank God that she did, because she may have saved his life. He was taken in for a CT scan to rule out a stroke- and a stroke was ruled out, but the news Bill received was much worse. He had an aneurysm that had recently ruptured, causing the headaches, which also caused a significant brain bleed. While in surgery, another aneurysm was found and both were repaired successfully. The initial surgeries were done through an artery in Bill's upper thigh, using a catheter to coil and clip the problematic areas. Shortly after (within 48 hours), a drain had to be placed to allow excess fluid to drain that wasn't circulating on its own. After about 2 weeks in ICU, Bill was transferred to a less severe unit to be monitored for a few days. On August 21st, Bill was transferred to a rehabilitation center and is currently working on Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.According to the surgeon, only 1/2 of the people who have a brain aneurysm are able to make it to the hospital before it will kill them. Of that 1/2 of people, only 1/3 make a full recovery, 1/3 make a partial recovery, and 1/3 never get to go home. Because Bill had 2 aneurysms, he has a 1/6 chance at full recovery, with the bleed- it is reduced even more. This stubborn man is expected to make a full recovery. He is a fighter and he is going to recover! What a miracle!However, health insurance only pays a certain percentage of a hospital stay, and only a specific number of days in a rehabilitation facility are allowed each year. After the maximum amount of days (usually under a month) are reached, the patient has to pay for each day out of pocket. My mom, Jean, has run out of Paid Time Off, and whenever she has to miss work, she will no longer be paid to do so. My dad, Bill has quite a bit of PTO, but eventually it will run out. I am sharing this fundraiser with the goal of relieving some medical bills and financial burden from my parents. I am an only child, and there is only so much that I can do as a 21 year old, newlywed, with a baby girl on the way. As a family member, friend, or simple acquaintance, I am begging everyone to help. If you are unable to donate, please share the heck out of this! My dad has worked at OSF for 38 years, he has transferred departments, but he has only worked at OSF throughout his entire life. Nearly everyone in the hospital knows him as "Bill from Central Supply," he's the super sweet, very social, hard working guy that everyone loves.
