Help Molly Kick Cancer To The Curb!

I wanted to write to you today on behalf of an amazing woman with an inspiring story. I write in the hopes that you can provide help for her, which, unfortunately, we cannot give. Molly is the kind of woman who changes those around her without knowing it. She radiates strength and positivity even when things seem hard and unbearable. First, let me tell you a bit about the woman we’ve come to know and love so much.Molly married her high school sweetheart, Keith; the family grew with the birth of their son Isaiah in 2010. Two years later, they were ready to welcome a new baby girl into their beautiful family. Molly loved getting ready for baby Eden. She picked out clothes and nursery items, and when the time came to head to the hospital, she went excitedly waiting to hold her baby girl. Tragically, just a few hours later, baby Eden was born sleeping. Molly took that pain, the horrible, gut-wrenching pain of child loss, and she made it raw and real to so many. She reached out to support groups; talked to others who were going through loss themselves. She took that pain and used it to help others navigate the journey of bereavement.In 2014, Keith and Molly were blessed with baby Drew. Drew was born with campomelic dysplasia, a rare genetic disorder that often causes life-threatening complications in newborns. Because of the campomelic dysplasia, Drew required constant intubation, something that Molly quickly mastered. When I met Molly, she was at a park with Drew and Isaiah and a bunch of bags. I didn’t know before our playdate that Drew needed much help, but after about an hour, I was so in awe of Molly’s demeanor when it came to Drew’s needs. She was cool, calm, and collected; always in charge. Even if it meant switching Drew’s tubes on a picnic blanket, she did it with a smile and nonchalance that made everyone around her more comfortable. All the while, she worked to raise awareness for campomelic dysplasia. Her family began fundraising, and the local television station came out to do an interview with Molly and Keith. If Molly’s love were enough, Drew would have lived many lifetimes, but as it was, he only had six months to be with his family physically. He passed away on June 24, 2015. Once again, Molly faced this immeasurable pain head on. When she felt ready to return to work, she found a job in home healthcare and began counseling families on intubation, a skillset she mastered by Drew’s side.In 2016, Molly and Keith learned that they had once again been blessed, this time with twin boys. Oliver and Tate soon joined the family and gave Molly a house full of boys. Twins can be overwhelming for sure, but Molly has never flinched. Those boys get her all; every smile, every laugh, she leaves her heart completely open to them. Over and over, what we hear from her is how blessed she is. That brings us to now. Molly recently started feeling ill, so she went to the doctor. That’s when a simple kidney stone turned into so much more. She had a scan which showed a growth on her pancreas. After an MRI, Molly learned that she had a tumor that the surgeon believes is a form of low-stage pancreatic cancer. In the next few weeks, she’ll have surgery to remove part of her pancreas and her spleen as the tumor has grown to both organs. This is where you come in. Molly has a strong tribe around her. People who love her more than they can put into words. But we can’t help her alone. Her surgery is estimated to cost around $6,000, and she doesn’t have any insurance to help cover the expenses, which we know will go far past just the cost of surgery. On top of that, the hospital is requesting that she put half of that down in advance to even schedule the surgery. So we are asking that you help this beautiful woman stay strong and healthy. Her 24 years have dealt her a lot of pain and hardships, but also a lot of love. We hope that this love will resonate with you now that you have read her story.
