Desk Shields for My Students

I'm writing to you on behalf of Marti, my wife, who had to postpone her retirement and is currently teaching first grade at Waikiki School...
The upcoming school year is right around the corner, but it is unlike previous years. The world continues to face this pandemic and we are going through very uncertain times. One of these uncertainties is the safety and health of my students, faculty, myself, and all our family members. Our school is taking the necessary steps to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
We will no longer be having whole group instruction on the carpet. The students will be doing a majority of their work 6 feet apart from each other. :(. They will be missing out on many beloved first grade activities like reading to each other, conferencing with teachers, playing together face to face.
The desk shields I am requesting are clear so students can see through them while still providing protection for them. The shields are made from vinyl and are portable so students can take them to other learning spots.
With your kokua we can purchase these desk shields for all of our students. These desk shields will be from Dobbs Global. Each shield is quoted at $26.35 and shipping will be $280 for 26 desk shields.
I know it might be a difficulty time for some of you, but with your help, we can keep our loved ones safe. School should be a place where everyone learns, has fun, and interact in a safe and healthy environment. This will mean so much to my students and me. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
