My name is Anne Goodrich, and I am the proud younger sister of Tim Chick.
On Thursday August 17 at about 5:45pm, Tim Chick and 3 year old son Peter were food shopping near their home in Summit, NJ. Tim suffered a ruptured aneurysm, on the right side of his brain and collapsed. Fortunately, shoppers nearby called emergency services and Tim was immediately transported to Overlook Medical Center. Peter was cared for and entertained by the Springfield Police until friends arrived. His oldest children, Chloe (7) and TJ (6) were fortuitously being occupied at a sleep over.
Tim was initially stabilized by first responders and then admitted to the Neurosciences Department at Overlook. At about 7:30pm they determined Tim had a ruptured brain aneurysm which led to a Grade 5 subarachnoid hemorrhage. Fortunately, the surgeries performed to control the bleeding were successful.
After four long weeks in the ICU at Overlook Medical Center Tim finally moved on to the inpatient rehab at Kessler Institute where he began his long road to recovery. On October 13th, Tim was released and is now doing outpatient therapy which gives him a chance to reside in the comfort of his own home.
Tim has been surrounded by family and friends who continue to supply love and support. We are all encouraged by your prayers , appreciative of all the helping hands being offered and extremely grateful for everyone's support. We are optimistic that, despite the long road ahead, Tim will get through this. He is a fighter. And he has already been told he is a miracle!
