POEM PROCEDURE/ESOPHOGEAL ACHALASIA

Hello my name is MaryAnn Levario..I am 44 years old. And I am employed at Adventist Health Hanford as a scrub nurse in the Surgery Department. A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Esophageal Achalasia..a rare motility disorder of the esophagus. This disorder does not allow food or liquids to pass into my stomach. I have had two Myotomy surgeries to alleviate/correct my disorder, only to have the surgeries incomplete/fail. I have been disabled and unable to work for 8 months now. Everyday is a challenge to try to intake minimal nutrition and liquids. Everyday..everytime I try to drink fluids or swallow minimal food I vomit/regurgitate instantly. This is due to the failed/incomplete Myotomy Surgeries. I am currently being treated at UCLA Medical Center for my condition. After over 7 months of testing, trial treatments, and a whole lot of consultations. With great enthusiasm and joy :) I have met the Specialist at UCLA that can surgically treat/correct Me! The name of the surgery is best known as the POEM PROCEDURE/Perioral Endoscopic Myotomy. In other words :) the surgical procedure will be done entering my mouth to access my esophageal tissue/muscle. This will be the safest and provide me the best effective outcome. I am scheduled for the POEM PROCEDURE at UCLA, early October 2017. I also ask if you can find it in your heart to help finance my surgery and help give me back my life. All I ever wanted was to regain my health, happiness, and return to work.
