Giving Hope To Sylvia Chister

Everyone goes through life hearing stories about cancer but you would never think that it would happen to someone you love and cherish dearly. On August 16th, 2017, our hearts were broken to hear that our mom, Sylvia, was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer that has metastasized to her lymph nodes and bone marrow. We are in the process of starting her aggressive treatment at City of Hope. She has taken a leave from work to focus on her health and family. Sylvia is an extraordinary and loving wife to her best friend Fabian and mother to myself, her 21 year old son Damian, her 18 year old daughter Marissa and her 10 year old son Adrian. She has a passion for working in special education as a para-educator and is known for her upbeat personality and bright smile. We know this type of cancer is rare but with the City of Hope and their team of researchers, we are feeling optimistic and hopeful. She has a strong support team and we are preparing for the obstacles to come. We are all hurting, but my mom is ready to fight this; WE are ready to fight this.This Go Fund Me is being created to help with medical expenses, treatments and emergency finances that come our way.
